Bank Statement Processing in SAP®
automated, future-proof

Anyone looking to make accounting in SAP® more efficient quickly encounters the limitations of standard solutions. enventa Accountbook Neo in SAP® automates all bank statement and remittance advice processing directly within your existing SAP® system — without interfaces, without SAP® customizing, and with an automatic posting rate of up to 95%.

Accountbook Neo offers the following features: a modernized interface, AI-powered PDF remittance advice processing, and S/4HANA readiness.

Routine tasks slow down the team

Processing bank statements, reconciling items, manually entering remittance advices... these tasks tie up 2 to 5 accounting employees daily. After initial setup, the standard SAP® system only processes a fraction of documents automatically. This is error-prone, expensive, and doesn't scale.

enventa Accountbook Neo in SAP® solves exactly this problem. Fully integrated into the existing SAP® environment, without additional middleware.

Rule changes cost time and money

enventa Accountbook Neo in SAP® is not a separate layer, but a natively embedded add-on. Bank statements are analyzed using a configurable rule set, assigned to open items, and posted via SAP® standard accounting documents.

The specialist department maintains the rule set itself, as that's where the experts are. No SAP® consultant, no customizing order. New booking cases can be individually added and parameters adjusted. Independently and at any time.

Diverse PDF formats hinder automation

Payment advices rarely arrive in structured formats. Many customers send PDF remittance advices with varying layouts that have been difficult to automate until now. OCR-based solutions fail due to variable structures, and manual effort typically amounted to 4 to 8 hours daily.

enventa Accountbook Neo fundamentally changes this: PDF remittance advices are automatically read out using AI, and relevant fields are recognized and extracted independently of their layout.

The system learns over time, and the recognition rate continuously improves without manual intervention.

Result: The daily effort for processing remittance advices drops to under 30 minutes.

Incorrect bookings are difficult to trace

Without a comprehensive log, every exception turns into troubleshooting. Who booked what, why wasn't an item assigned, where is the clarification case? These questions are time-consuming, especially during audits, annual financial statements, and external reviews.

enventa Accountbook Neo in SAP® documents every booking transaction in an audit-proof manner via information, bank, error, and returns logs. Every step is traceable, every exception explainable, at any time and without effort.

Bank Statement Processing in SAP® — how the process works

Discover the enventa Fashion ERP specifically for your industry

01

Receipt & Analysis

MT940 or camt.053 files are automatically retrieved via the banking program. The integrated AI extracts data from PDF remittance advices independently of their layout, without manual pre-conversion. The configurable rule set analyzes each document, and the memory table recognizes recurring posting cases.

02

Allocation and Verification

Invoice numbers, customer numbers, and account assignments are automatically allocated. A test run checks the results before the actual posting. Corrections can be made directly in the integrated interface.

03

Posting & Reporting

Posting is performed using SAP® standard (FB01, FB05, F-28) — without interfaces, without middleware, by an employee. Information, bank, error, and return logs document every transaction in an audit-proof manner.

Automatically recognize and post PDF remittance advices

AI-powered remittance advice processing is one of Accountbook Neo's strongest unique selling propositions: PDF remittance advices are read independently of their layout, and relevant fields are automatically extracted. Processing takes place in a secure cloud environment. We transparently discuss which data is transferred and how processing is contractually regulated during the implementation project.

Where OCR-based solutions fail with variable structures, AI works reliably. The daily effort for remittance advice processing drops to under 30 minutes.

  • AI instead of OCR: No fixed layout required from the customer
  • AI recognizes all important information: Customer, amounts, discount, deductions, and invoice numbers
  • 80% time savings: From 4–8 hours of daily effort to less than
    30 minutes

Full transparency over every booking transaction

A powerful search function completes Accountbook Neo: incorrect postings, unassigned items, and exceptions can be specifically searched for and corrected directly in the integrated correction interface, completely without system changes. Every booking decision is fully documented via info, bank, error, and return logs. This ensures auditability for internal audits, annual financial statements, and external examinations.

  • MT940 and camt.053 natively supported
  • Posting via SAP standard: FB01, FB05, F-28
  • Memory table learns from recurring booking cases

The business department determines the SAP® financial accounting rule set

The core of automatic bank statement processing in SAP® is a configurable rule set that the business department can maintain itself — without SAP consultants, without customizing orders, without development. The SAP® financial accounting rule set remains entirely in the hands of the business department. New booking cases can be added independently, parameters adjusted, and exceptions defined. This reduces ongoing operating costs and makes the finance department permanently more independent.

  • Rule set without SAP® customizing: The business department maintains rules independently, without SAP® consultants.
  • New booking cases can be added at any time: Parameters and exceptions can be adjusted directly.
  • Memory table learns from recurring booking cases: Known transactions are automatically recognized and assigned.

Q&A - Compact Overview & Useful Information about the new enventa Accountbook SAP®

Is S/4HANA necessary for the transition?

No. The minimum requirement is SAP_Basis_731 (ERP 6.0 EHP 6). Both hosting scenarios, on-premise or SAP Private Cloud, are possible. A current system copy is required for the test environment.

I don't have advice notes; can I still use the new Accountbook?

Yes. The new Accountbook has a modular structure and can also be used without the Advice module.

I have a subledger in SAP; can I connect it?

Accounts receivable/payable subledgers are supported. Other subledgers (e.g., Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable/IS-U) are expected from Q3/2027. Multi-system scenarios are expected to be natively supported from Q3/2027; until then, interfaces will be provided.

I have multiple SAP systems; can I connect them?

Multi-system scenarios are expected to be supported starting Q3 2027.

How long does the transition take?

Typically, a maximum of 5 days, including training – depending on the individual scope and extent of implementation.

Can custom settings and in-house developments be migrated to the new system?

Yes. The migration of settings is automated; for highly customized setups, manual adjustments may be necessary. Modifications are converted into rules where possible. Special requirements can be adopted as modules if applicable (subject to service fees) to ensure release capability.

Is parallel operation possible?

Yes, of course. To protect your daily operations, we recommend a temporary parallel operation so that testing can take place in a separate environment.
